His first evaluation report

Because of his late development, the nephew is enrolling in therapy clinic aside from enrolling at the school.  He went to class on weekdays and therapy every Saturday.  Sunday is the only day where he can rest and play a lot with his friends.  He is showing developments already after three months at school, but still, he needs some improvements.  In all fairness to my nephew, he is willing to learn because he participates during classes.  The only problem is that he gets distracted easily.  He can’t focus on what he is doing when he hears the noise.  He is struggling I must say being with kids who speak fluently than him, but he is trying his best to communicate.  He can’t express fully because of his communication problem.

Last Friday, his teacher gave us his first evaluation report to be shown to his therapist.  His teacher and his therapist exchanging evaluation starting last week so that the therapist will know what kind of re-enforcement he will apply for my nephew, as well as his teachers.  The evaluation report is not bad at all, in fact, is gave us a happy face reading the evaluation of his adviser teacher.  We do hope that the nephew will show improvements for him to cope up with his classmates and for him to express himself freely and better.  This is not an easy job for the nephew but showing his eagerness and excitement each day at school give us hope that the nephew will be ready to enroll in kindergarten next school year.  The nephew is only four (4) years old, he has all the time to learn.  We will do our job at home too.

Nutrition month culmination

July 28, 2017, was the nutrition month culmination of my nephew at school.  We were told to bring the assigned foods and fruits nothing more nothing less.  I do not know anything about the said event because I was not able to attend the meeting.  When I arrived at the school, all parents are busy preparing and beautifying their tables.  They are putting decorations and arranging the foods and fruits they bring.  I must say they have good table decorations, sumptuous foods on the table and amazing decorations of fruits.  It is sad that our table is empty.  I was not informed that the table presentation is a contest.  The most presentable, and the go foods, glow foods and grow foods are present on the table.

I am sad because of what had happened but I must accept that the parents in my group do not care at all.  They do not care if our table is almost empty, to them as long as they bring the assigned foods to them.haha!  They have a point though.  We are all busy to have a meeting on how are we going to do to our table for the table competition.  Better luck next time for our group.  The good thing is that I learned from it, I have more ideas on foods and table preparation for future needs.  The next nutrition month culmination I have the idea on what would be our table look like.  Because I want to experience winning too.  Of course, when given the chance.

Career guidance week at school

One of the activity at school is career guidance.  It is like knowing what would be the students want to be when they grew up.  They will be wearing the costume of what they want to be in the future.  You will be seeing young professionals.  And that makes the career guidance week exciting.  The kids are so cute wearing different costumes of professionals like nurse, police, army, chef, flight attendant, teacher, lawyer, politicians, and much more.  Parents are giving their best to make their kids look like one.  I must say the parents are supporting their kids and so proud of their kids.  One thing that is nice about their career guidance week is that the kids will have an idea of they would like to be when they grow up.

My two nieces who are in high school level wanted to become a teacher and so they are wearing the uniform of the teacher.  The nephew in grade three wears the uniform of the policeman.  And my grade one nephew wears the cap of an engineer.  He changes his profession now.  Before he wants to become a soldier because he wants to serve the country and to keep the safety of everybody.  But lately, he likes to draw houses and buildings and he keeps on saying that he wants to become an engineer.  The nephew is still six years old but he dreams of building the big house for his family.  He has big dreams I must say and I hope that it will come true.  As I can see, he is determined to become an engineer, it is a long way for him, and I wish him all the best and he will succeed in life.

Wanted to become a teacher

In their English class, the niece was asked about her dream to become in the future.  First, she wants to become a nurse, then computer related course, and now she wanted to become a teacher in the future.  Indeed the kid’s mind is changing.  She is confused because she has lots of things in mind.  She asked my opinion.  I was glad because she trusted me on that.  I just told her to listen and follow what her heart says.  She has to lists down the advantages and disadvantages of that profession she wants to become before deciding.  Also, she has to consider her interest of that profession for her to enjoy it more.  She told me she wants to become a teacher.

Even though she has seen how busy and difficult it is to take up this noble profession, still she wants to become one.  She is inspired by her aunt who is a teacher.  She also wants to teach kids in the future and to share her knowledge.  Well, her aunt is her role model.  She has the heart to teach kids and wants to be with kids.  Of course, her aunt is flattered and happy.  We hope that the niece will pursue this dream for her to share her knowledge and help mold the future generation to become a better person.  The niece has the long way to go, she might change her mind along the way.  Whatever it is, I pray that she will succeed in life and will achieve her dreams and goals in life.  Good luck to my niece.

Teaching them to be independent

I remember when I was little, my late mother always teach us to do household chores and clean our things.  She always told us to be responsible and independent.  I did not understand it back then because all I could care is to go out and play with my friends.  But when my mother passed away, I understand why my mother taught us to be a responsible and independent person.  I am so thankful to my late mother for teaching us early.  It was really difficult when my mother died, but we were able to survive because of her teachings.

I am sharing it because this is what my older sister did to her first born (son).  She wants him to be responsible and independent as early as possible.  The nephew is only six (6) years but is trained by my sister to be a good person.  The nephew is grade one now.  And we are happy that the school is practicing the kids to be an independent person.  Parents are not allowed to enter the school during lunch time.  The kids are told to bring foods for lunch and will eat inside the classroom.  I must say it is a good practice.  I feel relieved that I do not have to go to school anymore during lunch time.  Hopefully, the nephew will become a responsible and independent person.
